How a Singapore Bank Moved from AI Licences to Real Adoption

From low usage and sceptical teams to a bank-wide adoption capability — built around real workflows, not generic training.
The Challenge
Tools in place. Adoption nowhere.
A leading Singapore bank had done the hard part. The tools were in place, governance frameworks were signed off, and licences had been rolled out across the organisation. The problem was adoption. Usage was low, and leadership was asking a question that L&D and Digital Transformation teams didn't have a clean answer to: where's the return?
Generic training had been tried. People sat through sessions, nodded along, and went back to their desks doing exactly what they'd done before. AI stayed a thing they'd heard about, not a thing they used.

What We Did
Role-based learning built around real work.
MISSION+ partnered with the bank's HR, L&D, and Digital Transformation teams to design and deliver a role-based AI upskilling program built around the bank's own workflows — not off-the-shelf content.
The starting point was understanding where the bank actually was: AI maturity across teams, where early adoption was working, and what the real barriers were. From there, we co-designed learning journeys that looked different depending on who was in the room. Finance teams had different needs to HR. Operations had different workflows to frontline staff. One-size-fits-all was the problem we were solving for, not the solution.
Workshops were hands-on and tied to real work. The goal wasn't AI literacy in the abstract — it was people finishing a session and immediately applying what they'd learned to something they'd do the next morning.
We also built for what happens after launch. Internal champions were identified and enabled within the bank. Feedback loops were put in place. Adoption signals were tracked and reported to leadership so the program had a clear owner and continued momentum beyond the initial rollout.

The Impact
From rollout event to ongoing capability.
Participation was high and satisfaction scores reflected that teams felt the training was relevant to their actual jobs — not a compliance exercise. The bank moved from a single rollout event to an ongoing capability, with internal champions continuing to drive adoption across teams.
Across our 2025 AI upskilling programs, including this engagement, we trained over 10,000 users, achieved a satisfaction rating of 4.6 out of 5, and 91.4% of participants said they would recommend the program to colleagues.

It all began with brainstorming sessions for a new name, which took time to get right
